MIDI Visualizer is a lightweight utility that allows you to check, customize, and export the visualizations of notes and effects stored in a MIDI file into a series of bitmaps. The app does not require installation or configuration, meaning you can access it as soon as you load the MIDI file. The interface is a strong point of the tool, as notes and effects are displayed in the specified order in a modern and optimized environment. The idea behind the utility is to allow you to visualize what an audio project will look like, and therefore it can be a great addition for anyone with a passion for music composition and DJing. ![]() It goes without saying that the display can be exported and used with other applications. Generally speaking, MIDI files do not contain audio data but rather help explain what, when, how long, and loudly the notes should be played. In other words, these files contain instructions on how the sound should be played when loaded into a dedicated third-party application or connected to a playback device. Therefore, you should not expect the program to play soundtracks or samples but only display them. It’s worth noting that the program comes with a settings panel where you can customize the colors for notes and effects in your samples. At the same time, you can lock colors, flashes, and blur for notes and specify the speed, quantity, expansion, and size of the particles that represent them.
